Sen. Salazar should keep the faith

In her Denver Post column (4/24/05), Salazar is the one keeping faith, the sanctimonious Diane Carman attempts to perpetrate a lie against Republicans, to obfuscate the real sin of Sen. Salazar and she attempts to do all this in the name of religion.
First off, Carman surely knows that Senate Republicans, who would seek to end the unconstitutional use of the filibuster, do so only with regard to judicial nominees. Carman also should know that the 200-year-old Senate Rule to shut down debate has already been changed throughout History with the current rule of 60 votes implemented just over 40 years ago. Additionally, Carman knows full well that the current confirmation battle is not about those judicial nominees already approved, but rather about the 2/3 of Appellate Court nominees the Democrat minority has denied fair hearings. Lastly, no one questions that Sen. Salazar is a religious man, only that he’s now praying at the alter of kook Liberalism in the Church of Moral Relativism.
If Sen. Salazar were really the one keeping the faith, he’d abide by his campaign promise to “allow all of President Bush’s judicial nominees a simple up or down vote”. As an elected representative of the people, Salazar’s first obligation is to “keep faith” with those who voted him into office.
